The Intensive In-Home program aims to assist families in accessing necessary resources and services to prevent removal from the home, including educational, psychiatric, psychological, medical, social, and legal services. In addition, Intensive In-Home Services offers personalized interventions to help families improve their overall functioning.

Our intensive in-home program:
Aims to help youth achieve stability and independence in the least restrictive environment, typically within their families.
Seeks to empower and support individuals and families by teaching problem-solving skills, assisting parents in becoming advocates for their children, and coordinating community resources.
Brings services into the home and develops a comprehensive treatment plan to address both practical and mental health needs.
Who is eligible for Intensive In-Home?
Intensive In-Home Services is an evidence-based program designed for children and adolescents ages 5 to 21 in the Tidewater area of Virginia who meet the following criteria:
- Have Medicaid insurance or are eligible for it.
- Have a primary mental health diagnosis (according to DSM-5).
- Have the potential to improve with appropriate therapy and treatment.
- Are at risk of being placed outside of their home or are in the process of transitioning back to their home from a previous placement.
- Have not shown significant improvement in symptoms despite receiving less intensive services.
- Have exhibited disruptive behaviors or symptoms in the past 30 days that put them at risk of harming themselves or others.
- Have at least one key family member who is willing to participate in the program with them.
